mangochick design creates fabulous art + design for the artsy-fartsy set

Katie Yancey is an illustrator and designer who received her MFA from Savannah College of Art & Design. She resides in the DC metro area –– VA side –– with Rick and her cat. They have since picked up a few stray cats and cosmopolitan friends. One even hears voices in his head, but it adds to his charm.

Currently, Katie is involved in the Internet world, but is still hoping to be crafty for a living. Combining life experiences with a love of design, her work draws from influences in mid-20th century design, vintage poster art, and typography. Her use of painted textures, line work and a strong graphic style create illustrations that are focused on editorial, fashion and lifestyle themes.
